Fulfilling Performance

Fulfilling Performance is a framework for understanding and strengthening the drivers of performance within organisations.

It starts from a simple premise:

There is more to performance than how good people are and how hard they try.

In many organisations, talented people are already working hard. Yet performance is still constrained by systemic issues — unclear priorities, capability gaps, misaligned behaviours and ways of working, or a weak connection between daily activity and why it matters.

Fulfilling Performance focuses on four underlying factors:

  • Clarity - a shared understanding of direction, priorities and current performance
  • Capability - the competence, mindset and resources required to deliver
  • Culture - the behaviours that support people to perform at a high level
  • Purpose - the connection between what individuals do each day, what the organisation is trying to achieve, and what matters to them personally

Together, these fundamentals form the core drivers of performance.

When one or more of these fundamentals is lacking, friction occurs and performance suffers.

When we have healthy quantities of each, friction is reduced and results improve.

Fulfilling Performance provides a practical way for leaders and teams to identify the “handbrakes” limiting performance and take action to release them.

Because it is intentionally simple, it can be introduced across and down the organisation, creating a shared understanding of the drivers of performance and collective responsibility for improving them.

It is typically introduced through a short activation with the senior team before being applied more widely.

Further details of how this works in practice can be found on the How We Work page.
